2008 Louisiana 4-H Foundation North Louisiana Golf Tournament

The Louisiana 4-H Foundation will host a North Louisiana Golf Tournament on Monday, September 29, 2008 at the Squire Creek Country Club in Choudrant, Louisiana.

Tournament Proceeds

All proceeds from this event will help the Louisiana 4-H Foundation provide a quality summer camping experience for the youth of Louisiana at the Grant Walker 4-H Educational Center in Pollock, La. Each year, more than 5,000 4-H members attend Camp Grant Walker. Numerous improvements are made at 4-H Camp each year, thanks in part to events like this.

Tournament Site - Squire Creek

Squire Creek Country Club, recently recognized as the No. 1 golf course in Louisiana by Golf Digest, opened in August 2002. The magnificent layout designed by renowned golf course architect Tom Fazio is nestled in the rolling hills of North Louisiana. Playing Squire Creek will give you a golf experience in its purest form on the challenging layout. Strict golf attire is required. No denim.

Tournament Format

  • 4-person scramble
  • 18-hole shotgun start
  • Field limited to first 36 paid teams.

Tournament Fee

$200/player
Fee includes:

  • Greens fees and cart
  • Range balls
  • Golf polo shirt
  • Lunch and dinner
  • Drinks and snacks on the course
  • Door prizes

Special Event Holes

  • Long drive for men, women and seniors
  • Closest-to-the-hole on all par 3s
  • Longest putt

10:00 a.m. – Registration begins
11:00 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. – lunch
12:30 p.m. - Tournament tee off
Approximately 5:30 p.m. – Dinner & awards

4-H is a community of young people across America who are learning leadership, citizenship and life skills. In Louisiana, more than 175,683 youth, K-12 grades participated in 4-H last year.

4-H is the youth development and outreach program of the nation’s land-grant university system and is operated in Louisiana by the LSU AgCenter. It seeks to help young people develop knowledge and skills that will benefit them, their families and their communities throughout their lives.

4-H is building the future today, and the Louisiana 4-H Foundation provides support and funding for this effort. Founded in 1978 as a 501.c.3 nonprofit organization, the Louisiana 4-H Foundation is a permanent endowment fund, where only the interest is used to benefit 4-H’ers and their volunteer leaders through programs and scholarships.
