Hornets vs. Milwaukee Bucks

Are you ready to rumble with the New Orleans Hornets? To experience the fun and excitement of Hornets basketball, 4-H members and their families have been given the opportunity of a lifetime. Come out and watch the Hornets take on the Milwaukee Bucks on February 27, 2009, at 7:00 p.m. in the New Orleans Arena.
Tickets can be purchased for $22 through your local 4-H office by January 30th. This event will allow over 200 4-H members the opportunity to participate in pre-game and halftime activities.
You have the opportunity to participate in many activities to promote 4-H.

Hornets Ball Boy/Girl
Age requirement: 13 years of age by January 1, 2009
Have you ever wanted to sit on the bench with an NBA team? You can have that opportunity if you submit an essay on the topic: “Being a Good Citizen through Community Service.” Essays must consist of 250 or less. The two winners will each receive two free tickets to the game.
High Five Team – Tunnel Groups -- Honeybee Photo – Player Photo – Basketball Buddies – Pre-Game Courtside Program
Ten 4-H members will have an opportunity to be on the court prior to the game and High Five the Hornets players as they are introduced on the court. The two Tunnel Groups of 25 4-H members each can High Five the players as they run through the tunnel leading to the court. Another 25 4-H members will have an opportunity for a group photo with one of the Hornets players. Twenty-five other 4-H members will have an opportunity for a group photo with the Honeybees. Basketball Buddies allows 10 4-H members to stand in front of the Hornets basketball team during the performance of the National Anthem. Pre-Game Courtside Program allows 10 4-H members to watch the Hornet players up close warm up prior to the game. Selections will be through a drawing at the state 4-H office.
Half Time Presentation Contact
Each parish will select one 4-H member to represent their parish for the halftime recognition of 4-H. The 4-H members selected will go on the court while a promo about 4-H is read to the audience. This will be a great opportunity to experience being on a basketball court and promote 4-H at the same time.
Captains Program
One 4-H member will have the opportunity to participate in the referee meeting on-court, act as an honorary captain and present the game ball for the evening. Submit your essay of 250 words or less on the topic: ”4-H Why Do I Belong.” The winner will receive two free tickets to the game.
Invocation
Send the name of a pastor or minister for the invocation to Terril Faul by February 2, 2009. The invocation will be prior to the game and will to limited to 25 seconds or less. The individual selected will receive two free tickets to the game.
Court of Dreams
4-H members from the New Orleans area will have the opportunity to play basketball games on the Hornets court prior to the game. The entire arena will be made available to the group of 4-H members, agents and volunteers.
Color Guard
A group of 4-H members to serve as the color guard group prior to the game, presenting the flags during the singing of the National Anthem.
