Nearly 1,550 4-H’ers participated in the 95th annual gathering of young people who participated in scores of activities that are part of the annual three-day 4-H event that’s a highlight of the LSU AgCenter’s 4-H youth development program. The sixth annual 4-H dinner at the Governor’s Mansion was held Tuesday, June 2nd. Participants included state 4-H officers, Executive Committee 4-H members, Fashion Board, Food and Fitness Board, and Science, Engineering, and Technology Board 4-H members. The 60 participants were treated to a dinner sponsored by TJ ribs for their participation and leadership in one of the state 4-H boards. The Governor’s Mansion staff provided an educational tour of the Mansion along with some extras for dinner

4-H youth from around the state visited the State Capitol on June 3, 2009. The State 4-H Officers and LSU AgCenter administrators were introduced to the House and Senate during their sessions. Vice President Austin Mouton of Vermilion Parish was a guest speaker during the House session in which he thanked the representatives for their support of the 4-H program and promoted the benefits and goals of the 4-H program.
