*DATE CHANGE*
New Date is Sept. 4-5, 2009

In remembrance of 9/11/01, “America Supports You,” a program of the Department of Defense hosts a Freedom Walk every year. In 2008, a total of 330 walks were held in all 50 states and in 12 foreign countries. Their goal is to “Remember the Victims, Honor our Veterans, and Support our Men and Women in Uniform.”

Operation: Military Kids participated in this event in the past, as walking participants, as well as aiding in the setup and cleanup. This year, for the 2009 Freedom Walk, OMK will once again step up and take part. We invite all of our military youth to join us as we take a stand for freedom. OMK participants will stay overnight on the USS KIDD on Friday and participate in the walk on Saturday, Sept. 5.

Check out the registration packet below, or contact Stephanie Hill for more information. (225)578-2196.
