Military Kids "Marsh" On:

THIS CAMP HAS BEEN POSTPONED---MORE INFORMATION AS IT BECOMES AVAILABLE.

Here is another Operation Military Kids camp experience just for youth in military families in Louisiana in any stage of deployment.

This time, the camp is for the older kids — those entering their first year of high school to those who have just completed their senior year.

Marsh Maneuvers is a very popular 4-H camp where participants have the opportunity to learn about the unique ecosystem of Louisiana’s wetlands. They will learn about the flora and fauna of the wetlands, visit Avery Island not only to see the factory but observe the bird sanctuary and plant wetland grasses to restore our “hurricane buffer” and restore the wildli[Image: Having fun in the marsh]fe habitat. They also will learn how to catch crabs and shrimp, how to test water and a lot more about Louisiana’s famous wildlife inhabitants.

This really is a can’t-miss opportunity for all military teens. The camp is limited to the first 16 youth. Preference will be given to early applicants, especially those who are geographically dispersed (not living on or near military installations). Transportation to and from the event will be available. See camp flyer for mor[Image: Marsh Maneuvers fun]e details, and please, contact Kathleen Schexnayder with any questions. All accepted applicants will receive notification on what they need to bring.
