Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer March/Race for the Cure

East Carroll Parish 4-H Agent Krishanda L. Mayers, club members and leaders raised approximately $3,000 for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer March/Race for the Cure. An estimated 200 4-H members and leaders from East Carroll Parish participated.

Mayers said they were awarded a plaque for having the largest number of youth present; one of the 4-H members won first in the 5K run in his age group; and several photos of some of the 4-H members were taken by a Quilted Northern representative.

"The Susan G. Komen Foundation has expressed gratitude about the impact this community service project has in the lives of survivors and the youth who participated," Mayers said. "This is impressive public service in a part of the state that needs all the help it can get," said Vice Chancellor Paul Coreil.
