YWW Material Packing Day
Thanks to the enthusiastic recruitment of schools by 4-H personnel, more than 900 teachers registered for the 2008 YWW Program. This means that materials needed to be provided to more than 55,000 students across Louisiana. To help get the materials organized, 21 America's Wetland Conservation Corps (AWCC) AmeriCorps members came to Baton Rouge the weekend of Feb. 16 to package and begin delivering materials.
AWCC AmeriCorps members serve in LSU AgCenter offices across Louisiana and assist with wetland education and wetland restoration projects. Click here for information on the program and to find an AWCC member in your area!
Thanks again to all the wonderful volunteers who helped package and distribute materials! We never could have done it without you!
