This summer a group of 4-H’ers sat around dreaming and planning for a statewide service-learning project. We wanted a project that could have some effect on every mile of the state; as far north as Shreveport, and as far south as New Orleans. Many great ideas were thrown out on the table, but we decided to go green! After all, 4-H is the Original Green! Going green is more than recycling. It is taking care of the Earth as a whole and working together. We dreamed of having our own Web page that could highlight parish activities. We tossed out wild ideas of fun things we could do during all our state activities that would connect to our service project, and we identified some areas where we think we can make a difference by just educating others and changing some of our habits. We researched the areas and created fact sheets for your use and our final product.... Not only this Web site, but a great environmentally based service-learning project that we are very proud to share with everyone. So come on in and explore this simple, yet informational and let us not forget interactive and fun Web site.
