Executive Committee and SET Board go white-water rafting
This past spring the 4-H State Executive Board took a trip to Ocoee, Tenn., as part of their spring meeting. Along to share their ideas were Joshua Hippler and Micah Patout, members of the State SET Board. The main purpose of this meeting was to finalize plans for the 2009 4-H University, but this does not mean that we did not enjoy ourselves. Much of the planning was done during the 14-hour drive to Tennessee. The next day we went white-water rafting and spent the rest of the afternoon cleansing ourselves in the Blue Hole. When the water level at this swimming hole is raised, class six rapids are form. This was also the starting point for the 1996 Olympics. This is a great example of how being on a state board can give you the opportunity to make difference in the Louisiana 4-H program and have an amazing time doing it.
