Executive Committee

For 100 years, Louisiana 4-H has taught young people and adults alike that no one needs to wait a single moment before starting to change their world. No avenue of 4-H exemplifies this adage better than the State Executive Board.
The Louisiana State Executive Board consists of the state officers, a minimum of 14 regional representatives who are elected by their 4-H peers, and 8 National Conference Delegates. The board’s structure allows for youth to become involved in the decision-making process while also allowing for successful youth-adult partnerships. These partnerships create a team atmosphere and prove that being a team player is not limited by one’s age.

The primary goal of the Executive Committee is to oversee the Louisiana 4-H Constitution and not only plan, but also conduct statewide events. This includes 4-H University, Junior Leadership Conference, and Challenge Camp.

"During my term as a Louisiana State Exec Board member, I have had the privilege to serve on national boards such as the National 4-H Congress Leadership and Design Teams, be featured in the National 4-H Council’s annual report, People and Teen People Magazines, and even meet with elected officials like Congressmen, Senators, and the president of the United States. In 3 weeks, I will be traveling back to Washington D.C. to share my 4-H leadership experiences at an international youth service learning summit. While I participate in many facets of 4-H, I truly consider the 4-H Executive Board a premier tool for developing character and leadership."

This summer a group of 4-H’ers sat around dreaming and planning for a state wide service-learning project. We wanted a project that could have some effect on every mile of the state; as far north as Shreveport, and as far south as New Orleans. Many great ideas were thrown out on the table but we decided to go green! After all, 4-H is the Original Green!
