Farmer of the Year Awards Ceremony

The Louisiana Farmer of the Year awards ceremony is held every year in March. This year's ceremony will be Friday, March 7, 2008, at John Folse's White Oak Plantation in Baton Rouge. The reception will start at 6:15 p.m. followed by a dinner with a featured speaker, award videos and announcement of the winner.

Directions to White Oak Plantation

Directions to White Oak Plantation from Baton Rouge or Hammond:
From I-12, take Exit 7 (O’Neal Lane). From Baton Rouge, turn right; or from Hammond, turn left onto O’Neal Lane. Travel 2.7 miles to George O’Neal Road. Turn left onto George O’Neal Road, traveling 1.1 miles to the White Oak Plantation entrance sign on the left. Turn left onto the asphalt drive; White Oak’s entrance gate is at the end of the road on the right.

Directions to White Oak Plantation from New Orleans:
Take I-10 West toward Baton Rouge. After you enter East Baton Rouge Parish, take Exit 163 (Siegen Lane). Stay in the center lane. Travel down Siegen Lane approximately 2 miles, crossing Airline Hwy. (Note that Siegen Lane will become Sherwood Forest Boulevard when you cross Airline Highway. Audubon Ford will be on the right.) Continue down Sherwood Forest approximately 2½ miles to Coursey Boulevard. Turn right onto Coursey and drive approximately 7 miles. (Note that Coursey will become George O’Neal Road once you cross Jones Creek Road.) As George O’Neal Road comes to an end, the White Oak Plantation entrance sign will be on the left. Turn left onto the asphalt drive; White Oak’s entrance gate is at the end of the road on the right side.
