POSITION VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
(This is a grant-funded, part-time [20 hrs/week], non-tenure track position through 12/31/2012. Funding must be available for any continuation of appointment.
WORK LOCATION: Department of Plant Pathology & Crop Physiology, LSU AgCenter, Baton Rouge, Louisiana
RESPONSIBILITIES: Conduct laboratory research on molecular biology of fungal pathogens. Routine duties include: maintain experimental materials, equipment, and fungal cultures and specimens; perform DNA isolation, PCR, and 2-D gel electrophoresis.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: B. S. or M. S. degree in biology, plant pathology or related field. Excellent skills in molecular biology techniques are required as is willingness to learn new techniques. Experience in working with fungi, microbial cultures, and/or microscopy is preferred.
