006842 RESEARCH ASSOCIATE (RUMINANT NUTRITION) - IBERIA RESEARCH STATION (ANTICIPATED)

WORK LOCATION: Iberia Research Station, LSU AgCenter, Jeanerette, Louisiana.

POSITION DESCRIPTION: The incumbent will be responsible for coordinating, together with the faculty member, all activities related to ruminant nutrition research conducted in the field and laboratory. Activities include field data collection, analysis (both laboratory and statistical analyses) and technical reporting of ruminant nutrition research data. Additional responsibilities are working together with the unit safety coordinator and assisting in management of animal and pasture resources.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in animal science, agronomy or related discipline. Training and experience in beef or dairy cattle, and pasture management are required. Applicant should possess the ability to work cooperatively with other professional staff and to skillfully supervise support staff. Proficiency in laboratory methods and computer applications commonly used in the field of nutrition is desirable.

SALARY AND BENEFITS: Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The LSU AgCenter has an attractive benefits package with a wide variety of benefit options.
