Research Associate

(This is a grant funded non-tenure track position. Continuation will be dependent on funding, job performance, and continued need for the appointment.)
WORK LOCATION: Rice Research Station, Louisiana State University AgCenter, Crowley, Louisiana.
POSITION DESCRIPTION: Responsibility of working under the direction of a project leader doing research on rice breeding and genetics. The duties will include field research, as well as some laboratory and greenhouse work. The position will involve data collection, record keeping, and the use of materials and research equipment in the rice breeding project. The position will also include responsibility for supervision of certain personnel.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in plant sciences, agronomy, horticulture, plant pest management or related discipline from an accredited college or university. Other degree may be accepted with experience or education related to job duties. Computer skills required. Experience in plant breeding is preferred.
