Conducting Performance Appraisals

Performance appraisals are an increasingly important aspect of supervisory responsibilities and overall effective management. The AgCenter HRM Office is again offering training on Conducting Performance Appraisals. This training session will cover all performance appraisal systems used in the AgCenter. The training is scheduled for Thursday, August 17, 2006, and is being offered through distance education.

Although performance appraisals are generally mandated by various regulations, the most important reasons we conduct them are because they are a key method of:

  • improving productivity,
  • communicating expectations to employees,
  • documenting employee performance (both good and bad),
  • documenting our accomplishments.

Employees with responsibility for conducting evaluations are strongly encouraged to attend.

Note:  Employees who register for classes should be committed to attending as space in courses is often limited.
