The Louisiana Board of Regents Support Fund contributes $40,000 in state funds for each $60,000 in private donations. A $1,000,000 endowment for a chair requires $600,000 in private contributions augmented by $400,000 in state matching funds. A $100,000 endowment for a professorship requires $60,000 in private funds matched by $40,000 in state funds.
Founded in 1986, the Board of Regents Support Fund is a trust fund for financing endowments for chairs and professorships. The program is administered by the Board of Regents for the benefit of all colleges and universities in Louisiana.
