Areas of Specialization/Research

Two research projects that I coordinate or support the efforts of other scientists include:

LAB 03571. Pecan Research: Breeding, Cultural Management, and Phytochemicals. This is a cooperative project with Entomology and Pathology researchers at the Pecan Research and Extension Station in Shreveport, LA. Primary research will be conducted on cultural management (rootstocks, fertilization, propagation, etc.) with limited research conducted in breeding and phytochemicals.

LAB 03625. Peach Research: Breeding, Cultural Management, and Fruit Quality. The primary objective of this project is to evaluate cultivars and breeding selections of fruit crops for commercial and home orchard use in north Louisiana. This project has been transferred from the Calhoun Research Station to the Red River Research Station with research limited to final evaluation of advanced peach and nectarine lines for possible release.
