Education/Training

Dr. Navarre received her DVM from LSU in 1990. Following graduation, she worked in a private large animal practice in Sulphur Springs, TX before going to Texas A & M for a large animal internal medicine residency and Master’s degree. She then joined the Food Animal Section at the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine Teaching Hospital where she spent 11 years providing clinical service and teaching of food animal and camelid medicine and surgery. Dr. Navarre is currently Extension Veterinarian with the Louisiana State University Agricultural Center.

The LSU AgCenter veterinary extension program focuses primarily on field investigations of disease outbreaks in livestock and providing current livestock disease information to veterinarians, agents, producers and 4-H youth. Veterinary extension personnel also work closely with the Department of Agriculture and Forestry’s Animal Health Services, and the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine on livestock health issues including emergency/disaster preparedness and foreign animal disease programs.
