Sugarcane rust affecting 'resistant' varieties

(TV News 08/03/09) The disease rust has been a problem in Louisiana’s sugarcane crop this season. Growers saw an influx of the disease in late winter in varieties thought to have good rust resistance, according to Dr. Ben Legendre, director of the LSU AgCenter's Audubon Sugar Station.
