Application for the Ag Leadership Program is closed until the spring of 2009. The program will accept applications for Class XII, which begins in January 2010, from April through August 2009. An application form will be available on this page for download at that time.
Each class is selected competitively based on applications and interviews. Because new classes begin in January of even-numbered years, applications, reviews and interviews occur in the fall of odd-numbered years.
Applicants must commit to the entire two-year course of study. To help assure this commitment, application forms require information about the applicants, their families, organization affiliations, business activities and community service. A narrative section allows applicants to convey their reasons for enrolling.
Spouses of applicants must provide a supporting application indicating his or her interest in the program and willingness to support the applicant. Two letters of recommendation and a letter of support from the candidate's supervisor are also required. A selection committee interviews each qualified applicant. The selection committee conducts interviews throughout the state at sites convenient for the applicants. Those accepted into the program begin their two-year commitments in January following the interviews.
