LSU AgCenter Faculty Elected To Aquaculture Posts

Two LSU AgCenter faculty members have been elected to key leadership positions in the World Aquaculture Society.

Dr. John Hargreaves, associate professor, and Dr. Greg Lutz, professor, at the LSU AgCenter’s Aquaculture Research Station in Baton Rouge recently were elected to serve in the posts during 2004-2005.

Hargreaves was elected vice president of the World Aquaculture Society, the world’s largest professional aquaculture organization with more than 4,000 members in 94 countries.

Lutz was elected vice president of the U.S. Aquaculture Society, which is the largest chapter of the World Aquaculture Society.

In addition, LSU serves as the home office of the society that formed in 1970. More on the society can be found on its Web site at www.was.org.
