Zahara Series Zinnias - Photo Gallery

The new series of zinnias for 2009 is the Zahara from Ball Horticulture Company. Plants have been evaluated in LSU AgCenter trials at the Hammond Research Station and were ranked as above-average landscape performers in 2008.

This all-new, disease-tolerant, heat-loving series has 20% larger flowers in stronger colors than the market leader - including a triple play of the first yellow, the first scarlet and the first well-balanced mixture in a zinnia of this type! Zahara is an all-around winner that promises bigger retail impact and care-free, season-long shows with lots of color.

The four-color series shows such outstanding performance in landscapes that it was chosen for use at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China.

Once established in the ground, drought-tolerant Zahara has very low water needs, making it an ideal crop for areas with watering restrictions. Well-suited to packs and 4-in./10-cm programs.
