What's New
The purpose of this website is provide a comprehensive source of information on ISPM 15, Guidelines for Regulating Wood Packaging Material (WPM) in International Trade, which was adopted by the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) in 2002. The IPPC currently has over 200 member countries. An important purpose of the IPPC is to foster international cooperation in controlling pests of plants and plant products and in preventing their spread internationally. All businesses involved in international trade can expect to be impacted by these regulations. While ISPM 15 provides a basic structure for regulating WPM, special conditions in certain countries and differing implementation dates for countries participating in the regulatory process create complexities and confusion for businesses shipping internationally.
The cooperating organizations hope you find this site a valuable resource in dealing with the phytosanitation issues surrounding WPM in international trade. Your input and suggestions are welcome and should be directed to the Project Manager at curth@mail.wvnet.edu or by phone at 304.282.5417. |
