One acre per twenty acres of pasture land is lost to RIFA mound area.

There have been several studies conducted at the St. Gabriel Research Station over the past few years dealing with RIFA in pastures. Studies included insecticide trials with insect growth regulators, effects of cultural practices (i.e. plowing) on colony dynamics, and RIFA influence on forage  production and grazing.
