Designing Stormwater BMPs

Presentations and handouts from day 2 of a two-day workshop held by the LSU AgCenter on June 12 and 13, 2006. The theme for this day was the design concepts behind two of the most-common permanent stormwater control measures -- wetlands and bio-retention areas. The speakers reviewed designs and several case studies of each BMP. Then the group divided up into small groups to design a wetland and a bio-retention area using parameters furnished by the speakers. This day’s presentations were conducted by Dr. William F. (Bill) Hunt and his extension associate, Jon Hathaway, both of the Biological and Agricultural Engineering Department at North Carolina State University from work conducted in North Carolina.
