LSU AgCenter to Host Stormwater Workshop for Municipal Officials

The LSU AgCenter will host the EPA Getting in Step with Phase II workshop on June 11 and 12 at the Louisiana Transportation, Training and Education Center on Gourrier Lane on the LSU campus. The program, primarily presented by staff from Tetra Tech for EPA with some local success reports, will provide guidance from knowledgeable experts on Construction, Post-Construction, Pollution Prevention and Outreach segments of the Urban Stormwater program. The program is designed for municipal officials involved in operating and enforcing the program. It will be two full days of information with opportunities to interact with the presenters, fellow operators of MS4s and staff from LDEQ. The program is co-sponsored by the Louisiana Departments of Environmental Quality and Natural Resources, The Louisiana Municipal Association, The Louisiana Police Jury Association and The Louisiana Transportation Research Center.

With the deadline quickly approaching to have all six of the required program areas up and running for the Phase II permittees, this is a very timely way to see if your program is up to standard. It will also allow the Phase I cites to get the latest information on how they should be handling some of the more contentious issues that arise with any new regulatory program.

Contact Dr. Rod Hendrick with the LSU AgCenter at 225-578-6998 or by e-mail at rhendrick@agctr.lsu.edu for additional information.
