Urban Stormwater Structural Best Management Practices (BMPs)

Description:
Many best management practices are available to treat a variety of pollutants such as sediment, nitrates, phosphate and heavy metals. BMPs range in size from relatively large, multi-acre approaches, such as wet ponds and wetlands, to small, site-specific projects such as a rain garden designed to catch runoff from a 1/2-acre yard. This pdf discusses the BMPs used in North Carolina.
