Choosing the site upon which to build a house is one of the most important decisions many people make during their lifetimes. Making sure a site is suitable to meet the needs of both the present and the future requires a lot of planning and research. You want to be sure the site is adequate to meet any renovations you may make to your house, or any buildings you may add to the site.

Drainage is another concern that needs to be addressed when choosing a site. Does the site have adequate drainage to reduce chances of flooding, or does additional drainage need to be added to protect your loved ones and belongings?

Finally, landscape needs should be considered. What type of landscaping do you need on the property? Are there any regulations regarding the type and/or species of plants that can be planted on the property? Is there any landscaping that can help reduce the threat damage by hurricanes to the property?

This channel contains information that can help answer questions you have about the site, drainage and landscape.
