Rebuilding Extravaganza

The LSU AgCenter, Tulane City Center and UNO-CHART will host free workshops for anyone involved in building or rebuilding a house. These workshops will be held from noon to 4 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 1 in Richardson Memorial Hall on the Tulane University uptown campus in New Orleans.

During the workshops, attendees will learn:

  • How to strengthen a house against wind and water damage,
  • How to protect their pocketbooks from soaring energy costs with information on energy efficient heating and cooling options, and
  • "Tricks of the trade" for replacing or repairing a roof, insulating a home, and properly installing windows and window protection.

Attendees also can browse the contractor registry to find licensed contractors for their rebuilding projects.

For information, call the Rebuilding Information Station at (504) 280-5577.
