The Rebuilding Information Station was a temporary office housing rebuilding educators from LSU AgCenter and UNO-CHART, with support from the state's Road Home program. It was a place to obtain information and guidance that would help you with:
- Building or restoring a home so it will be safer, stronger and more energy-efficient
- Understanding home elevation methods
- Using the Rebuilding Registry to contact or rate contractors
- Preparing financially for your rebuilding or restoration project
- Understanding the construction process, building codes and permitting requirements
- Managing a rebuilding project and avoiding contractor fraud
- Weighing the pros and cons of innovative materials and technologies
