A Portrait of the Vision

The new master site plan creates a portrait of the vision for Louisiana House – Home and Landscape Resource Center. It shows the long-range plan for its seven-acre site on Gourier Lane, west of Nicholson Drive and adjacent to the LSU golf course and shop.

At the southeast edge of campus, it is easy to find and access from the primary highway through campus (LA 30) or scenic River Road. It’s also near Tiger Stadium, so LaHouse could easily be a side attraction for some of the 90,000 football tailgaters. It will eventually be surrounded by the LSU golf course on two sides and the future baseball stadium across the street.

The initial construction phase will include the exhibit house and teaching center, landscape exhibit areas with walking trails and kiosks throughout the site, and a front driveway with parking spaces. The plan for the fully developed site includes an exhibition hall with larger meeting spaces, an outdoor pavilion and additional parking.
