LSU Students help build LaHouse

[Image: LSU Students help build LaHouse]

The construction of the LaHouse teaching center provided a unique learning and service opportunity for LSU construction management (CM) students. Through the generosity of LaHouse Key Contributor Lane Thompson and Eco-Block, professor Jimmy Gill structured a course in innovative technology for CM students where they received training and hands-on experience with the insulating concrete form (ICF) building system – a high performance energy-efficient and hurricane-resistant technology.

The students made a substantial service contribution to LaHouse while getting a taste of real world job site field experience with professional contractors, construction superintendents, a safety team and protective gear and procedures.
