Musa 'Bordelon'

[Image: Musa 'Bordelon']Bordelon grows 9 to 14 feet tall and is hardy to USDA zones 8 to 9. This banana was so named because it was first discovered in Bordelonville, La. The large leaves have maroon splotches on the upper surface and a maroon underside. This banana will flower and produce an inedible ornamental fruit. Bordelon is susceptible to Panama disease and leaf spot.
