Baker, Anne
Anne Baker is a popular sustainable farm, organic garden educator in the New Orleans area and a master gardener. Her Cajun upbringing allowed her to experience the flavors of her grandparent's family farm-raised food and the everblooming flowers of the homegrown garden as a part of daily life.
Before Hurricane Katrina, she operated a certified organic farm and nursery as part of a nonprofit that served people with developmental disabilities. Today, she shares her knowledge of organic growing to inspire others to create their own gardens successfully. She currently operates The Gentilly Urban Farm that provides hands-on learning for volunteers and aspiring farmers. Anne is also a gardening consultant offering one-on-one advice and the editor of Sustainable Gardening on NewOrleans.Com.
