It was constructed to honor local firemen and policemen who lost their lives in the line of duty as well as others who lost their lives in the bombing of the World Trade Center on 9/11 in New York City. Volunteers from Keep Bossier Beautiful and other groups spent many hours cleaning out weeds and dead plant material from the previous season.
