Master's in Chemical, Mechanical or Biological Engineering Specializing in Sugar Engineering
Students are recruited to earn a master's degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Biological Engineering. This is targeted at people who have a first degree and wish to gain some specific sugar processing expertise through further study.
Following the thesis option, the master's academic requirement is 24 credit hours in the nominally 21-month program. The course requirements include the Sugar Process Engineering and Sugar Factory Design courses listed above. Depending on the first degree of the individual concerned, he/she would be encouraged to choose electives appropriate to supporting a strong sugar expertise.
A thesis will be required, and this should be related to a relevant sugar-processing topic.
In all cases, the student would be encouraged to take on a research assistantship in ASI for the duration of coursework. He/she would be given maximum exposure to sugar processing at every opportunity.
