Integrative Biology
Integrative Biology encompasses the relatively basic areas of insect systematics, physiology, behavior, ecology and conservation biology. Advances in understanding in these fundamental sub-disciplines support applications in the two program areas above. Nine faculty (all Graduate Faculty members) contribute to this program area.

Urban Entomology
The Department has been a leader in addressing Urban Entomology. The Department was among the first to develop programs on structural pest management and forensic entomology. Eight faculty (including five Graduate Faculty members) address topics under Urban Entomology.

Integrated Agricultural Pest Management
The Departmental research and teaching activities focus on three areas.Integrated agricultural pest management is a traditional strength of the Department.At present, 17 faculty (including 13 Graduate Faculty members) are involved in this program area.
