The Food Processor's Conference

The first Louisiana Food Processor's Conference was held in Baton Rouge in March 2003. The conference is a partnership among Louisiana Economic Development, the LSU AgCenter, the Louisiana food processing industry and allied supporters.

Value-added processing represents one of the most important economic development segments of the Louisiana economy. The potential for future growth is staggering. Louisiana proudly has one of the most important ports in the nation, and it is the gateway to global markets essential for international trade.

The food processing industry is continually evolving. A major purpose of this conference is to provide information on new regulations in the areas of food safety and security, marketing challenges, global trade, required processing training, emerging pathogens and record keeping.

Who Should Attend?

This conference is intended for all those with an interest and stake in the future of the Louisiana food processing industry: food processors, food processing support industries, governmental representatives, state and federal regulatory agencies and entrepreneurs that may be considering a business in food processing.

Registration

Registration is $125 before March 1, 2009. After this date, registration is $135. The conference registration fee includes refreshments at all breaks, a reception on Wednesday, March 18, and a continental breakfast and lunch on Thursday, March 19. You may mail in the registration form along with your check, money order or credit card information.

Trade Show Booths

Companies and organizations may also purchase reserved space for tables or booths for exhibiting at the conference. You may register by mailing the completed trade show registration form to the Food Science Department with your payment.
