Agronomy Alumni Association Scholarship

As many $1,000 scholarships as the interest earnings can support. Student in the School of Plant, Environmental, and Soil Sciences with a minimum of 30 semester hrs credit. American citizen, preferably a Louisiana resident. Overall minimum grade point average of 2.5/4.0. Based on scholarship (50%), leadership (25%), and need (25%). Eligible for renewal through the senior year.

Lee and Francis Mason Agronomy Scholarship

As many $1,200 scholarships as the endowment interest earnings can support shall be awarded annually. Either incoming freshmen who have declared intention of majoring in agronomy at LSU Baton Rouge, upperclassman, or graduate students enrolled in an agronomy curriculum at LSU Baton Rouge. Good academic record. Potential for becoming a contributor to society. Evidence of reasonable monetary need. Freshmen will be considered first, if no freshman is qualified then the committee may select an upperclassman or graduate student in agronomy, based on qualifications listed.

John Gray Endowed Memorial Scholarship

$500 minimum per semester to a maximum of $1000 per semester, depending on the interest earnings. Junior or senior agronomy student majoring in Crop Science or a closely related field. Based on scholarship, character and participation in student activities in the department, college and university.

Bob J. Miller Memorial Scholarship

At least $100. As the principal is increased and the earnings become larger, the amount of the award will be increased. Full-time graduate or undergraduate student attending LSU. Demonstrate true financial need.

L. W. Sloane Endowed Agronomy Scholarship

As many $800 (minimum) as the endowment interest earnings can support shall be awarded annually. Full time student at LSU, College of Agriculture in the School of Plant, Environmental, and Soil Sciences and majoring in a curriculum that involves agronomics of plants and soils. American citizen. Excellent overall high school. Maintain 2.5 overall grade point average at LSU. Demonstrate evidence of reasonable monetary need.

Dean Lee Scholarship in Agronomy

($1,000/annually) Undergraduate student transferring after their freshman, sophomore, or junior year from another college or university within the state to a full-time program in Agronomy at LSU. If no candidate is eligible under #1, the scholarship may be awarded to an undergraduate student who is majoring or wishes to major in agronomy, provided they meet all the other requirements of leadership, financial need, and potential for future contribution to the agronomy profession. Grade point average of at least 3.0/4.0.

Century Club Honor Scholarships

($1,000; $500 per semester) Incoming freshman in the College of Agriculture; minimum 22 ACT composite score; must maintain an LSU gpa of 2.75 to retain. Scholarship applications are due by January 31 prior to the semester you wish to enroll.

Charles Stewart Churchill Memorial Scholarship

($500; $250 per semester) Student in the College of Agriculture who has completed a minimum of 30 hours with a cumulative gpa of 3.00 or better; letter of recommendation from the department/school head/director must accompany scholarship application.

Downtown Kiwanis Club of Baton Rouge Agriculture Scholarship

Incoming freshman; all majors within the College of Agriculture; Louisiana resident; minimum 2.75 gpa and minimum 21 ACT composite; preference given to residents of East Baton Rouge Parish and adjoining parishes. Scholarship applications are due by January 31 prior to the semester you wish to enroll.

George Fasting Scholarship

Sophomore, junior, or senior enrolled in the College of Agriculture majoring in animal, dairy, and poultry sciences or preveterinary medicine; sophomore must have a minimum 2.50 gpa; junior or senior must have a minimum 3.00 gpa.

Federal Land Bank Association of South Louisiana Scholarship

($1,000; $500 per semester) Incoming freshman pursuing a degree in the College of Agriculture; Louisiana resident; minimum 3.00 gpa and minimum 22 ACT composite. Scholarship applications are due by January 31 prior to the semester you wish to enroll.

James D. Graugnard -- Louisiana Farm Bureau Scholarship

($1,000; $500 per semester) Incoming freshman enrolled in the College of Agriculture pursuing a degree in any area except industrial education and business education; must have a 3.00 high school gpa and 20 ACT composite; LSU gpa of 2.80 to retain; may retain for four years if grade point average is maintained and student remains in the College of Agriculture. Scholarship applications are due by January 31 prior to the semester you wish to enroll.

Mac Kasaoka Memorial Scholarship

($1,000; $500 per semester) Incoming freshman in the College of Agriculture; 3.00 high school gpa and minimum ACT composite of 21; LSU gpa of 2.50 required to retain. Scholarship applications are due by January 31 prior to the semester you wish to enroll.

Emile A. Maier Endowed Scholarship

($1,000; $500 per semester) Full-time student enrolled in the College of Agriculture; preference given to male student who shows true financial need.

David B. Means Endowment Fund

($1,000; $500 per semester) Incoming freshman with outstanding high school record; pursuing a degree in agricultural business, animal, dairy, and poultry sciences, food systems, or plant and soil systems; LSU gpa of 2.50 to retain; may retain for four years if LSU gpa of 2.75 is maintained. Scholarship applications are due by January 31 prior to the semester you wish to enroll.

Laurie S. & Helen Nelson Mobley Scholarship

Incoming freshman in agriculture; 3.00 high school gpa and minimum ACT composite of 22; LSU gpa of 3.00 during freshman year to retain; may be retained for sophomore year. Scholarship applications are due by January 31 prior to the semester you wish to enroll.

Moorman Manufacturing Scholarship

($1,000; $500 per semester) Incoming freshman or continuing student in agriculture; 3.00 gpa and minimum ACT composite of 23; must be pursuing degree in agricultural business, agricultural education, animal, dairy, and poultry sciences, food and resource economics, or preveterinary medicine; LSU gpa of 3.00 to retain for second semester. Scholarship applications are due by January 31 prior to the semester you wish to enroll.

Nonresident Fee Waiver

($1,600 each) Freshman or transfer nonresident student with 3.00 gpa and ACT composite of at least 23; awarded on recommendation of the College of Agriculture and approval by the Office of Student Aid & Scholarships.

James W. & Edna F. Trott Scholarship

($1,000; $500 per semester) Full-time student in the College of Agriculture; incoming freshman must maintain a 2.50 gpa to retain; sophomore, junior, or senior must maintain a 2.75 gpa to obtain or retain scholarship; preference given to students who show true financial need.

William L. Hawthorne Memorial Scholarship

Classification: Junior or Senior
Value: $500
Criteria: Recipient must be a junior or senior majoring in Horticulture at LSU, preferable from Louisiana or Mississippi, with a GPA of no less than 2.75

Travis P. Hernandez Memorial Scholarship

Donor: LSU Horticulture Alumni Association and friends and family of Dr. Travis P. Hernandez
Number Given: One/annual
Classification: Sophomore, Junior or Senior
Value: $500
Criteria: Recipient must be a sophomore, junior or senior majoring in Horticulture at LSU, resident of Louisiana. Selection based academic performance, financial need, and participation in activities.

John E. Love Memorial Scholarship

Donor: LSU Horticulture Club
Number Given: One/annual
Classification: Senior/graduate student
Value: $250
Criteria: Recipient must be a senior who expects to do graduate work in horticulture or a graduate student. Must be an active member of the LSU Horticulture Club as defined in the Club's constitution. Senior must have a 2.75 GPA; graduate student, 3.25 GPA or better.
Selection: Made by the officers of the LSU Horticulture Club.

T. K. McKnight Memorial Scholarship

Criteria: Recipient must be a junior, senior, or graduate student with a GPA of 3.0 or better, resident of Louisiana, exhibiting interest in the field of horticulture. Selection based on academic performance and financial need

John J. Mikell Memorial Scholarship

Classification: Undergraduate
Value: $500
Criteria: Recipient must be an undergraduate major in horticulture at LSU demonstrating leadership abilities and have at least a 2.75 GPA. Must currently be an active member of the LSU Horticulture Club and must have held membership for two previous semesters prior to receiving this award.
Selection: Made by the officers of the LSU Horticulture Club and faculty advisers.

Julian C. Miller Memorial Scholarship

Value: $500
Criteria: Recipient must be a junior or senior majoring in horticulture at LSU. Selection is based on scholastic ability, financial need, and participation in activities.

Nicole Melissa Munn Memorial Scholarship

Donor: Family and friends of Nicole Melissa Munn.

Classification: Senior
Value: $100
Criteria: Recipient must be a senior major in horticulture at LSU, have a 3.4 GPA in major subjects, and be ranked in the upper 30% of his/her class. Selection is based on scholastic ability, genuine care and concern for others, and the ability to communicate well with others.

Donald W. Newsom Scholarship

Criteria: Recipient must be either an undergraduate or graduate student majoring in horticulture at LSU. Selection is based on scholastic ability and participation in activities.
