4-H in Ascension Parish
4-H in Ascension Parish is a part of a local, state, national and international youth program. It is one of the largest youth organizations in the United States. Our parish has twenty-seven organized clubs. This includes a Home School Club. We also have an active Junior Leader Club as well as a Horse Club.

4-H is a community of young people across America who are learning Leadership, Citizenship and Life Skills with the skilled help of volunteer leaders and the LSU Agcenter. Honey Bee Essay
This contest gives 4-H members a chance to compete on a state and national level. Participants will write an essay on a given topic related to honey bees.

Outdoor Skills
The Ascension Parish Outdoor Skills and Shooting Sports club meets throughout the year to work on marksmanship, wildlife, hunting and conservation projects.

On May 2-3, 2008 the Ascension Parish 4-H Shooting Sports members, went to Tallow Creek in Goodbee, Louisiana to compete in the State competition.

During the Easter Holidays eighteen 7th and 8th grade 4-Hers club members of Ascension Parish were geared up and ready to take on the Centennial Challenge at the 2008 camp in Pollock, Louisiana.

4-H Beef and Dairy Poster Contest
The contest is open to all 4-H members. The Beef and Dairy Poster contest is held as an educational awareness campaign. Posters created by 4-H’ers display the use of beef and dairy products for healthy living.
