A True Team Effort
Through the efforts of the LSU AgCenter, Ascension Master Gardeners, and Ascension Parish Government, several raised bed gardens were built at Lamar Dixon Expo Center in Gonzales.
Ascension Jr. 4-H Livestock Association
The AJLA is for 4-H members, parents and volunteers interested in livestock. They help run the Ascension Parish 4-H Livestock Show and other functions throughout the year.
Outdoor Skills
The Ascension Parish Outdoor Skills and Shooting Sports club meets throughout the year to work on marksmanship, wildlife, hunting and conservation projects.
Junior Leaders
The 4-H Junior Leader Club is for 4-H members in grades 7-12 who wish to participate in leadership and community services opportunities. Each year qualifying Junior Leaders are awarded with a fun, educataional trip at the end of the year.
Food and Fitness
The Ascension Parish 4-H program promotes health-related educational issues including food and nutrition. Through cookery contests, camps and other educational activities the Ascension 4-H program promotes healthy living among children of all ages.
School Clubs
Information about school 4-H clubs. These clubs meet monthly for educational programs, projects and fun.

During the 2011-2012 school year, youth from Ascension parish participated in a robotics club. As part of the club youth formed teams and completed projects building and programming robots.
Camps, Conference, Trips and Awards
Ascension 4-H'ers have the opportunity to attend a variety of camps starting in the 4th grade through their senior year in high school. Read about the different camps offered here.

Volunteer Tracking and Training System
This system gives 4-H volunteers resources for training and tracking their hours. Volunteers can enter volunteer hours, impact stories, mileage and expenses. The system has online training modules, helpful guides and links to volunteer resources.
