| Junior Leaders The 4-H Junior Leader Club is for 4-H members in grades 7-12 who wish to participate in leadership and community services opportunities. Each year qualifying Junior Leaders are awarded with a fun, educataional trip at the end of the year. |

| Volunteer Tracking and Training System This system gives 4-H volunteers resources for training and tracking their hours. Volunteers can enter volunteer hours, impact stories, mileage and expenses. The system has online training modules, helpful guides and links to volunteer resources. |

Citrus Greening Describes symptoms, pest and instructions to follow if a homeowner discovers the Asian citrus psyllid, which is most closely associated with the spread of citrus greening. If the pest is found, the quarantine prevents citrus producers from selling anywhere except to other infected parishes. |

| Louisiana Suggested Chemical Weed Management Guide This guide includes helpful information on herbicides and weed control with detailed suggestions for aquatics, commercial nursery stock, field crops, forestry, fruit crops, home gardens, lawns and many other Louisiana crops. It includes information on different types of herbicide registrations, as well as information on herbicide labels and restricted uses. Also included are sprayer calibration techniques, suggestions for reducing herbicide drift and a guide to proper spray tip selection. |
| Plant Disease Management Guide This guide for 2009 contains suggestions for management of the most important or more prevalent diseases of Louisiana plants. It includes information on fungicides, bactericides and nematicides, as well as safety precautions for using them. |
| Louisiana Insect Pest Management Guide This 2009 guide was compiled by LSU AgCenter experts and includes regulations, precautions and suggestions for pest control in Louisiana. Detailed topics include drift of pesticides, hazards of pesticides to beneficial insects and wildlife, phytotoxicity and using beneficial insects to control pest populations. A section on organic gardening also is included. |

| Co-Op Leadership Camp a big success Students from throughout the state attended the annual Co-op Youth Camp sponsored by the LSU AgCenter and the Louisiana Council of Farmer Cooperatives, at Camp Grant Walker Educational Center on April 3-5. |
| "Smart Bodies" and the "Body Walk" Teach Healthy Living Interactive, hands-on program designed for K-5th grade youth is a hit with Ascension youth who learn wellness information in a dynamite and exciting way. |
