2008 Assumption Parish Field Day

The Thirty-Ninth Annual Assumption Parish Field Day was held on Tuesday, July 22, 2008. The field program was held at Arcement Farms and the hall program was presented at the Assumption Parish LSU AgCenter Office in Napoleonville. The program was sponsored by the Assumption Parish Farm Bureau and the LSU AgCenter. Presiding over the program were Gerald Boudreaux, Assumption Parish Field Day Chairman and farmer, and Rick Louque, Assumption Parish County Agent.

Rick Louque presented awards to the following Top Ten Assumption Parish sugarcane producers to:

Tenth Place – Dupre and Landry Farms, Inc.

Ninth Place – D & D Planters, Inc.

Eighth Place – Naquin Brothers, Inc.

Seventh Place – Arcement Farms, Inc.

Sixth place – Robichaux Farms, Inc. (not pictured)

Fifth Place – Trinity Farms, Inc.

Fourth Place – Carmouche Planting Company, Inc.

Third Place – Woods Farms, Inc.

Second Place – Blanchard Farms, Inc.

First Place – Glenwood Plantation LLC

Gene Adolph, Assumption Parish Farm Bureau President, presented Patrick Cancienne, Jr. the 2008 U. B. Simoneaux Achievement Award.

Lance Thibodeaux of Thibodaux Brothers Farm received the 2008 Assumption Parish Field Day Young Farmer Award from Craig Naquin, last year’s recipient. (not pictured)
