2009 Tie Dye Clinic at Farmers Market

Heavy,...Groovy,... Cool!  Tie Dye at the Marksville Farmers Market was a huge success.

4-H'ers had an opportunity to get downright messy at this event where they were able to create designs on T-shirts.

To complete the process:

1.    Use 100 percent cotton shirts so they are easy to handle and soak up dye very well.

2.    Twist shirts in different ways and use rubber bands to hold them in place.

3.    Dip the twisted knots into different colors of dye in containers.

4.    Wring them out and then take out the rubber bands.

5.    Ta-da! You haven a tie-dyed shirt!  Now, let it dry and be sure to put it in the dryer for about 30 minutes before you wash it to set the colors.
