4-H U 2009 Avoyelles 4-H'ers had a great time competing in the state contests at 4-H University in Baton Rouge this summer. Approximately 25 contestants from Avoyelles were present, and rougly 15 placed.  Of those, two were state winners and the remainder were blue ribbon winners. Favorite activities while on campus included eating at Raising Cane's, watching the talent show, watching the fashion show, hanging out in the dorm, and hanging out with the agents after contests were over. 4-H University is an annual event where eighth-grader through 12th-graders compete at the state level.  Please ask your 4-H leader or 4-H agent about competing.
