Calcasieu- Cameron 4-H Horse Club
[Image: Horse Camp activity]This is a project club for 4-H members from Calcasieu and Cameron parish who would like to learn more about horses. You do not have to own a horse to become a member. The horse club meetings are held monthly with interested 4-H'ers. They will have guest speakers from the horse industry, educational workshops, field trips to equine events and many more fun activities throughout the year.
The meetings take place in varoius areas around both parishes to encourage more particiaption from members. The leaders for the horse club are Brenda Shope from Calcasieu and Stacy Verret form Cameron. To join the club, 4-H'ers must fill out a membership form with either Calcasieu or Cameron 4-H -- depending on the parish in which you are enrolled as a 4-H member. The dues are $10 a year, which inlcudes a horse club T-shirt to wear to activities.
Below are the dates for the upcoming horse club meetings:
Monday, October 19, at Wilkerson’s Arena in Sweetlake, 6:30 p.m.
Monday, November 16, at Calcasieu 4-H Office, 6:30 p.m.
Monday, December 21, at Calcasieu 4-H Office, 6:30 p.m.
Tentative: PRCA Rodeo, January
Horse Expo, February or March, TBA , West Cal Arena
Dennis Reis Tour Stop, May 7-9, West Cal Arena
Horse Camp, TBA
