Fashion, Food and Fitness
Members of the 4-H Fashion, Food and Fitness Club were invited to participate in a Freeze Modeling workshop on Monday, January 12. During the workshop, 4-H'ers were taught the basic techniques for freeze modeling and put these techniques into practice as they modeled in preparation for the Ag Expo. During the Ag Expo, the workshop participants spent one hour freeze modeling for the public who visited the event. Our next Fashion, Food and Fitness Club meeting will be Wednesday, February 18, at Central Elementary from 4:30 - 5:30 p.m.

Junior Leader Club
Members of the Junior Leader Club have been doing a great job presenting safety lessons to youth in after-school settings. The high school group has been presenting "Internet Safety" to students in grades 4 - 6 and the junior high group has been presenting "Food Safety" to students in grades 1 - 3. Our next Junior Leader meeting will be Monday, February 23, at Johnny's Pizza. The junior high team will present "Food Safety" to after-school students at Columbia Elementary on Wednesday, February 25.

Thirteen parishes will be coming together to participate in numerous fun and challenging experiences. The cost of Challeng Camp is $50 which includes lodging, meals and a t-shirt. The deadline for signing up is Monday, March 9th. Space is limited so hurry to reserve your spot!

Communications and Career Day

Beef Poster Contest
Entries for the 4-H Beef Poster contest are due Friday, February 27. You may submit these to your 4-H leader or the 4-H office. Rules and regulations for both contests may be obtained from the contest section of this website, your 4-H leader or the 4-H office.

Character Corner - Trustworthiness
Be honest.
Don't deceive, cheat or steal.
Be reliable - do what you say you will do.
Have the courage to do the right thing.
Build a good reputation.
Be loyal - stand by your family, friends and country.

Good Nutrition Tip
We need fats to stay healthy, but some fats are better for you than others. For example, transfats are the worst kind of fat. They are found in cakes and cookies that you buy at the store or frosting that comes in a can. You should try to avoid these "transfats". You can do so by making sure you read the Nutrition Facts Label.
