Thirty-seven of these members gathered at the CPHS auditorium on October 17 where they learned about food safety from nutrition educator Tammy Tarver. 4-H'ers were able to practice what they learned by preparing their own snacks during the presentation. Afterwards, Leah Dale and Shelbi Cassels demonstrated how to make a pumpkin decoration for Fall.
Junior Leader Club The Junior Leader Club took a field trip to the Outdoor Wilderness Learning Center located in Dubach. At the OWL, 4-H'ers participated in human maze activities that required them to use their leadership and team building skills. Character Corner This month's pillar of character is Responsibility. Be responsible: Do what you are supposed to do. Be responsible: Always do your best. Be responsible: Use self-control; be self-disciplined. Be responsible: Be accountable for your choices. Be responsible: Think before you act - consider the consequences.
Building Your Leadership Team Building an effective leadership team requires teamwork and "synergy." Synergy is the highest form of energy created from people's talents. One of the best ways to create synergy is to put together a team of workers who have a diverse set of skills. We all have strengths and weaknesses, but we can complement each other's skills if we work together to achieve our shared goal.
