Why Breakfast? . . . . . . . Smart Reasons to Eat Breakfast Breakfast fuels the body with nutrients. If you skip breakfast, you may not make up the nutrients missed from this meal. Breakfast provides food energy for active play. Breakfast gets you ready to learn. Kids learn better if they eat breakfast. Breakfast helps keep a healthy body weight since it helps control the urge to nibble or eat too big a lunch. However, even with breakfast young children may need a small morning snack. Breakfast helps kids and adults feel good. Children may get morning tummy aches from hunger pangs if they miss breakfast. Breakfast tastes good!
