Upcoming Events April 2009 April 23 Forestry Awareness Day April 24 Farm Safety Day May 2009 May 1 HAY Day Health Awareness Day for 6th graders Caldwell Parish Health Unit May 8 Caldwell Parish Relay for Life Caldwell Parish High School The 4-H Fashion, Food and Fitness Club Relay for Life team will be raffling a "Pink Basket." Raffle tickets are $1.00. All proceeds go to the American Cancer Society. The basket will be filled with pink items that support breast cancer awareness including a Farouk Chi Pink 1" ceramic flat iron with pink travel bag. Drawing will be held during the Relay for Life. You do not have to be present to win. Contact a Fashion, Food and Fitness Club member to purchase a ticket. May 15 Remaining 4-H Camp fee, camp store money and all paper work due to the 4-H office May 25-29 4-H Camp Camp Grant Walker, Pollock, Louisiana June 2009 June 3 4-H Day at the Capitol Baton Rouge, La. A $10 transportation fee is due when you sign up for 4-H Day at the Capitol. 4-H'ers will leave at 6:00 a.m. and return at 6:00 p.m. Members will travel to the state capitol to attend a 4-H assembly on the Capitol steps, visit with legislators and tour the state capitol. June 22-26 4-H University / Clover College LSU Campus, Baton Rouge Cost to attend 4-H University / Clover College is $100. A $25 deposit is due when you sign up. You must complete a health form and code of conduct form in addition to the 4-H U form. If attending Clover College, you will need to select which programs you would like to participate in. 4-H members who are 13 or older may attend this event.   July 2009 July 1-2 Northeast District Horse Show Ike Hamilton Expo Center West Monroe, La. Caldwell entries are due by Friday, June 5. Entry fees for the district show are $10 per class entered. There is a $10 roping fee for 4-H'ers who will be roping. August 2009 August 3 - 7 LOST Camp Louisiana Outdoor Science and Technology Camp for 7th and 8th graders Camp Grant Walker, Pollock, Louisiana Cost for camp is $125 which includes meals, transportation, lodging, a t-shirt and picture. Deadline to pay $50 deposit and sign up for camp is June 3. Caldwell has spots available for 4 girls and 3 boys. You must pay the deposit when you come in to sign up for camp. A camp form, health form and code of conduct form must be completed before leaving for camp.
