Another 4-H Year is Here!!! 4-H has a world of opportunities that await you. We hope you had a great summer. This is your to try something new in 4-H! Not sure what to do? Just ask your 4-H Club Leaders or your 4-H Agent. Join 4-H today by turning in an enrollment card and parish dues to the Cameron Parish 4-H Office. Participate in your club meetings, community service projects, and any workshops and contests that you can attend. Welcome back to 4-H!!!

Cameron Cooks Up a Storm

No matter how many storms hit the Cameron coast bringing constant changes to our way of life, there is one fact that will never change -- Cameron Parish citizens can cook! So Cameron Parish cooks are challenged to pull out the pots, tie on the aprons and get ready to present their best gastronomic delights. “Cameron Cooks Up a Storm” will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2009, at Hackberry High School. 4-Hers, parents, grandparents and cooks from all over the parish are invited to compete.

Fishing, sometimes called angling, is one of the most popular year-round activities in Louisiana. You can join the fun with other anglers in the Cameron Parish Fishing Sports Club as you learn about fish and their environment. Fun and fishing while you learn! Demonstration Day and Public Speaking [Image: 4-H Leading the Way]
Preparing and delivering demonstrations, illustrated talks and speeches help us to organize and present ideas so that others will understand an idea or concept. Showing others how to clean a saddle or presenting research information concerning the wetlands by participating in Demonstration and Public Speaking Day will help to develop important communication skills and in the future, get a job. Are you up to the challenge?

4-H Clubs from across Cameron Parish are invited to promote 4-H during 2009 National 4-H Week by creating displays to be housed at local businesses in the Parish.

We invite all Cameron Parish 4-H'ers to showcase their artistic talent by participating in the poster contests! Please read the poster rules carefully, as only posters that meet the contest rules will be considered.
Cameron Parish Shooting Sports [Image: Gun Safety Workshop]
Cameron Parish Shooting Sports Program is ready for the 2009-2010 shooting season. By taking part in the program, youth can learn life skills such as decision making, responsibility and communication. In addition, youth will gain an understanding of the importance of safety when using firearms and hunting equipment. The program teaches youth about hunting ethics and wildlife management tips.
